Solid State Chemistry Business Development Manager (to Senior Director)

This position is open for applicants at Manager to Senior Director level.

Location – Remote US (East Coast preferable)

The Company

A rapidly developing start-up pharmaceutical service provider is looking for an experienced Business Development professional (Manager to Senior Director level) to join their team. This company offer the full range of DMTA services equipped with their AI and robotic systems to improve the speed, scale, and success rate of drug discovery processes.

The Role

This role will serve as the critical interface in translating the benefits of this novel in-silica and solid state chemistry services to create pharmaceutical collaborations across the US. This position will focus on building a robust client portfolio to accelerate the discovery and development of life-saving drugs across a diverse range of therapeutic areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Promote preclinical drug discovery and development services to prospects and clients across North America
  • Proactively identify, pursue, and close business opportunities at small to mid-size biotech and pharmaceutical companies
  • Identify clients’ unmet needs along critical pathways in clients’ projects and educate them on services
  • Help clients achieve internal consensus for problem identification, solution selection, and business case justification
  • Work closely with internal R&D team and other Business Development members to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Gain strong understanding of the company’s differentiated positioning in the industry’s competitive landscape
  • Develop a business development pipeline strategy to achieve annual sales targets and coordinate cross functionally in support of tactical execution
  • Life science degree (preferably a MSc or PhD in Chemistry)
  • Experience selling solid state chemistry services in business development / account management
  • A track record of progressing opportunities through sales pipelines employing impactful presentations and follow-on discussions
