We are seeking an Automation Engineer to join a Medical Device client of ours for a 12 month contract. This role requires expertise in automation technology, process engineering, and an understanding of regulatory standards to ensure that automation systems enhance the efficiency, quality, and compliance of our manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement automation solutions for production processes, focusing on improving efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Manufacturing, Quality) to design automation systems that meet product specifications and manufacturing needs.
  • Create detailed automation system specifications, flowcharts, and documentation for new equipment and processes.
  • Integrate automated systems with existing manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure seamless operations.
  • Work with control systems, robotics, conveyors, vision systems, and other automation technologies to optimize production workflows.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, PMP) or Master’s degree in a related discipline is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in automation engineering, ideally within the medical device or highly regulated manufacturing industries.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial automation systems, robotics, control systems, PLCs, SCADA, HMI, and related technologies.
