Job Title: Senior Medical Director, Ophthalmology

A leading pharmaceutical company is seeking a dynamic and imaginative physician drug developer to lead the clinical development of innovative therapeutics. The role involves driving clinical strategies, overseeing trials, collaborating across teams to ensure integrated product development and leading a team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for clinical programs, guiding drug development efforts and securing global regulatory approvals.
• Oversee trial conduct, safety, and ensure all clinical deliverables are met.
• Collaborate with research, preclinical, regulatory, and medical affairs teams for cohesive development strategies.
• Supervise and approve key documents and presentations, including regulatory submissions and clinical protocols.
• Act as a spokesperson at external regulatory and scientific meetings.

Qualifications:

• MD or MD/PhD with a strong research background and clinical expertise.
• 4 + years of industry or equivalent academic experience.
• Board Certification in Ophthalmology / relevant training – not necessary
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
• Experience in biotech/pharma environments is highly desirable.
• Phase 2 and Phase 3 experience
