Strategic Account Manager
We are working with a large innovative Diagnostics/Biotech company which specialises in the field of In vitro diagnostics and offers a broad range of innovative instrument systems and tests for hospitals, reference labs, blood banks and clinics.
The Strategic Account Manager role is responsible for selling solutions to hospitals/laboratory accounts/ strategic prospective accounts. This person with lead the strategic customer relationship and prioritize retention, profitability, and new customer penetration.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitable growth by closing opportunities in large enterprise accounts.
- Negotiate long-term contracts.
- Cultivate senior-level relationships to support long-range sales goals.
- Own the sales quota, managing 2-3MM USD in volume, including forecasting and achieving target performance.
- Independently manage account development, including strategic planning, implementation, and territory management.
- Develop and execute sales strategies within a matrix structure.
- Gain a deep understanding of account needs, stakeholders, and market competition.
- Lead cross-functional teams to implement sales strategies.
- Analyze market trends and their impact on customers.
- Identify new business opportunities through unique solutions.
- Oversee post-sale implementation progress.
- Success metrics: Sales quota attainment, profitability, customer renewal rate, new customer acquisition rate, and customer satisfaction (NPS).
Requirements
- A minimum of 3+ years of proven success in the diagnostic industry, emphasizing the establishment and cultivation of executive-level relationships to drive new profitable sales and maintain existing business.
- Profound knowledge of the healthcare and diagnostics industry, including awareness of evolving market dynamics, primary competitors, industry terminology, challenges, and potential regulatory changes.
- Extensive experience in managing strategic and enterprise-level accounts.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- A long-term, strategic focus on account management.
- A demonstrated ability to build relationships with, sell to, and negotiate with senior-level stakeholders within large, intricate enterprise accounts is essential.
- A strong grasp of key stakeholders and customer dynamics.
- Exceptional skills in solution selling and relationship building.
- A track record of successfully securing contracts with major, complex accounts.
- Capacity to influence team member activities effectively, even without a direct reporting relationship.
- Competency in portfolio management.
- Candidates should be fluent in Dutch and English.
