About – This position will lead a global research team and be involved in shaping the research strategy for the company to help advance their cell therapy projects from early discovery to IND.


  • Lead a global research team to develop and optimise the company’s cell therapy pipeline from early discovery to IND.
  • Make key decisions for resource allocation according to portfolio priorities to ensure program milestones are reached successfully within budget and set time frames.
  • Be involved in the recruitment and training of new team members to support the growth of the company’s research department.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of cutting-edge technologies to enhance and develop novel platforms for cell therapy development with the organisation.
  • Ensure successful engagement with key external collaborators.


  • PhD in immunology, immune-oncology or another relevant field.
  • At least 14 years of experience in industry, preferably within the cell therapy space.
  • Extensive expertise in immunology with experience in T cell or NK cell biology.
  • Proven track record of driving programmes from early discovery to IND (cell therapies would be highly desirable).
  • Previous leadership experience, including building and leading cross functional teams to reach project milestones within set time frames and budgets.
  • Proven track record of publications and patents within the field of immunology / immuno-oncology.
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.
  • Be willing to travel to the other research sites for extended periods of time.

This role provides the exciting opportunity to shape a global biotech’s research strategy and team to help advance the company’s cell therapy pipeline (both autologous and allogenic CAR-T) for both oncology and autoimmune diseases.
