The Role

As Director of Business Development & Licensing, you will work alongside the VP Business Development and the C-suite to support in the out-licensing / strategic collaborations of pre-clinical and clinical assets. With a $1B cash runway, the filing of an NDA early next year, and two late-stage clinical assets moving positively through the pipeline there will be several deals to be closed over the next two years.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify and assess potential business opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives
  • Participate in the initiation and evaluation of various business arrangements, including mergers and acquisitions, licensing agreements, joint ventures, and strategic alliances
  • Take the lead in sourcing, conducting due diligence, and executing transactions related to both inbound and outbound licensing endeavours
  • Present comprehensive scientific and business justifications for proposed transactions to senior leadership
  • Collaborate closely with senior management to shape the company’s vision, strategy, and business plans for pursuing significant strategic partnerships and deals
  • Act as the company’s representative in external engagements, such as partnership discussions and investor conferences, while nurturing strong relationships within the financial and business communities
Requirements
  • PhD in a Life Science or a relatable degree
  • 2+ years biotech/pharma experience in Business Development
  • Knowledge across the full deal life cycle (financial analysis, term sheets, contract agreements)
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated and results oriented
