They are committed to delivering innovative solutions in both small molecule and complex API production and have established a reputation for excellence in the market.
They are currently seeking a Director of Business Development to lead client growth efforts on the East Coast, focusing on Drug Substance manufacturing services.
The role can be remotely based in the North-East
Responsibilities:
- Actively research and identify potential biotech and pharmaceutical clients in need of Drug Substance manufacturing services.
- Qualify and develop new business opportunities by engaging pharmaceutical companies, positioning the company as a trusted supplier of high-quality API services.
- Deeply understand client needs to craft accurate and competitive proposals, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
- Expand the company’s market presence on the West Coast, strengthening internal and external relationships to drive lead generation and increase market share.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure client projects are delivered on time and in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Provide valuable insights from customers to internal teams to refine the company’s value proposition and better align services with market demands.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns, analyze inbound data, and drive new business opportunities.
- Monitor competitors’ services, pricing, and strategies to refine business approaches and maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent the company at industry events, business meetings, and community engagements to promote its services and gather market intelligence.
- Relationship Building: Develop sustainable, long-term relationships with stakeholders that contribute to ongoing business growth.
Key Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field; a PhD in Organic Chemistry is preferred.
- Several years of experience in business development and API services, particularly within the pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.
- Proven track record in selling API services to biotech and major pharmaceutical clients using a variety of sales techniques.
- Strong knowledge of CMC, cGMP, API manufacturing processes, and the drug development lifecycle, particularly for small molecules.
- Exceptional business acumen, negotiation skills, and decision-making abilities with the courage to pursue and close high-value opportunities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage customers, partners, and vendors.
